Preview: TERA (Open Beta Weekend)
April 24th, 2012Ah yes, The Exiled Realm of Arborea; some of you may know it better as TERA, that wonderful MMO that everyone’s been talking about. Some are even going so far as to tote it as the “WoW-Killer™” that many have been waiting for. With some rather risque armor, an intriguing new combat system and some traditional aspects, it’s definitely been getting a lot of notice in the MMO market. TERA’s official open beta happened last weekend, and I have to ask: what do we have to show for it?

Toastercast 3- Massive, Multiplayer and Online… No, not Chatroulette.
March 11th, 2012The guys of Toastercast return to talk about what makes an MMO, their favorite MMO, and all things relating to the letters M and O. Once again you can find them in the wonderfully easy and somewhat imperialistic Apple iTunes format, and the mp3 format for those of you still using a Zune.

Skyrim Creation Kit and…. Cake?
February 6th, 2012Pete Hines, the lead spokes Dovahkiin over at Bethesda, posted on his twitter that the Creation Kit for PC users will be coming out Tuesday (aka- tomorrow) along with a “Special Surprise”. What could it be, we wonder? Some folks rolling through code and data-mining say they have evidence of an official high-res pack. Is the cake a lie?
A completely unrelated Public Service Announcement: console your nearby console gamer today, life must be difficult without mods.

In order to “express interest” in the beta, all you have to do is download and sign in! Armored Core V Multi-player Preview
January 28th, 2012I’ll say it right now, I love Armored Core. The first one I ever played was on the original playstation and had the most terrible controls this world has ever known. The game was unresponsive to the mad mashing of the controller and although frustrated I-just-kept-playing. That says a lot about the fun factor of a game, and this multi preview from the devs makes me even more excited. Although it’s never graced my favorite platform, I will still ask Namco Bandai and Sega: “Y U No Love PC?”. Hit the jump for the video. Read the rest of this entry “

Mojang Replies to Concerns About Minecraft Pocket Edition- ‘We Made a Huge Mistake’
January 8th, 2012
The dev team over at Mojang (those people that made that one block game) are apologizing for their initial direction on Minecraft- Pocket Edition. Daniel Kaplan, their Business Developer, blogged this morning, saying, “We had an initial plan of making Minecraft – Pocket Edition more like Minecraft Creative. But alas we were wrong. We have read tons of comments and feedback and it seems like we made a huge mistake. You wanted monsters, resources, animals and more different blocks.” Read the rest of this entry “

Indie Royal New Year’s Bundle
January 7th, 2012Ever since the Humble Bundle took off it seems everyone is jumping on the “Pay What You Like” bandwagon. Some may think that this only means more crappy indie games in their Steam, and they could be right. But Indie Royal has a few treasures in their latest bundle that makes it worth more than $5. Screen Shot Contest!
December 15th, 2011So you’re sitting at your computer going, ‘Toastervision, great, I’m so excited… What are you doing for me?” Well I’ll tell you what we’re doing! A friggin’ contest! That’s right, we’re starting out the New Year with a Dovahkiin Shout-out to the games of the year before they’re lost to oblivion.
As a photographer and journalist, I believe taking screenshots is an art form. As such, the boys at Toastervision have taken it upon ourselves to do a screenshot contest. Of course, what would a contest be without prizes? First, Second and Third place winners will get their pick from our Bucket of Epic Loot. The First place guy (or gal) will pick first, then second, then third (obviously). Click the jump for a list of the loot and how to enter! Read the rest of this entry “
